New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the country on Friday announced the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws. Addressing the country on the occasion of Gurpurab, the PM announced the decision to withdraw the farm laws. Let us tell you that for the last one year, farmers were agitating on the borders of Delhi to withdraw all the three agricultural laws. Let us know what were those three agricultural laws.

These were the three new agricultural laws that PM Modi took back today

1. Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act : Extends the scope of farmers' trade areas to "any place of production, collection and aggregation" from selected areas. Allows electronic trading and e-commerce of scheduled farmers. Prohibits State Governments from levying any market fee, cess or levy to farmers, traders and electronic trading platforms for trading of farmers' produce conducted in the 'Outside Trade Zone'.

2. Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act: Creates a framework for contract farming through an agreement between a farmer and a buyer, before any production or rearing of the farm. It provides for a three-tier dispute settlement mechanism: the Conciliation Board, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the Appellate Authority.

3. The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act: The Center allows for regulating certain food items during exceptional situations like war or famine. Require that any stock limits on agricultural produce be enforced based on price appreciation

PM Modi told the reason for withdrawing the law

PM Narendra Modi, in his address to the country, also explained the reason for withdrawing all three agricultural laws and said that we could not explain to the farmers, so we are withdrawing these laws. PM Modi said that the laws are being withdrawn, but such a sacred thing, completely pure, a matter of interest to the farmers, despite our efforts, we could not explain to some farmers. Agricultural economists, scientists, progressive farmers also tried hard to make them understand the importance of agricultural laws.

It is believed that PM Modi will continue the agricultural reform journey. As PM Modi said in his address that a committee will be formed on the issues related to agriculture, that is, the reform journey will continue.
