Congress Party MLA and former chief minister Ravi Naik resigned
Before the Goa election, there was another push in the Congress Party MLA and former chief minister Ravi Naik resigned from the post on Tuesday.In October, Luizinho Faleiro, another former Goa Congress chief minister, resigned as MLA and joined the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress. Ravi Naik's resignation on Tuesday reduced the number of Congress MLAs in the 40-member Goa Assembly to three. On Tuesday, Robi submitted his resignation letter to Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar He was accompanied by his two sons who joined the BJP last year. Naik submitted his resignation letter to reporters. "I have resigned. I will tell you what my next step will be." However, sources said that he will soon join the BJP in the presence of Devendra Fardanbish, who is in charge of Goa elections.The youngest son, Roy Naik, said he had already requested his father to join the BJP In the 2017 state assembly elections, the Congress won a single majority, winning 17 seats. After the 2017 elections, MLA Biswajit Rane resigned from the first Congress and joined the BJP and won the by-elections.
