Mehbooba Mufti hits the streets in Srinagar
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday along with other party leaders held a protest march. Mufti demanded a judicial inquiry into the controversial Hyderpora gunfight in which three civilians were killed.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti along with activists took out a protest march to the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar demanding a judicial inquiry into the Hyderpora encounter. Meanwhile, PDP workers also raised slogans against the central government. The PDP chief said the bodies of those killed in the encounter should be returned to the relatives and they should be given compensation.
He also demanded an apology from the Lieutenant Governor for this. The central government has been accused of killing innocent Kashmiris in the name of encountering terrorists. During the protest, Mehbooba Mufti said that the Hyderpora encounter is being given the name of terrorist encounter unnecessarily. Innocent Kashmiris have been murdered.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policy of surrendering Kashmiris by force will never succeed. He said that BJP is a communal party and it wants to gain votes in other parts of the country by deliberately killing Kashmiris.
