Record placement continues in IIT Dhanbad,
The placement season during the academic year 2021-22 is going great for the students of IIT ISM Dhanbad. In the first five days of this season starting from December 1, about 80 companies have offered jobs to 408 students. Whereas since July this year, a total of 557 students have got job offers. Of these, 149 students have already got job offers through pre-placement offers from more than 20 companies before the start of the placement season. Of these, 12 students were placed through off-campus interviews specially conducted by the Career Development Center (CDC) and 137 students were offered PPOs directly.
Large number of students are getting internship offers
On the one hand, students of BTech and PG programs of the institute are getting placement offers in large numbers. At the same time, BTech third year students are getting internship offers in large numbers.
So far 198 students of the institute have received internship offers. These include offers from companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Tata Steel. During internship, these companies are offering stipend in lakhs to the students. This year students have been offered a stipend of maximum Rs 2 lakh per month.
Minimum 10 lakh and maximum 54 lakh package
Not only are the placements going on record numbers this year, but they are also getting a much better package. The average package of students who got PPO before the start of the campus season was around Rs 19 lakh. But after the start of the campus season, there has been a huge jump in the average package. By December 5, the average package of students who got job offers reached close to 21 lakhs. The students of the institute have got a minimum package of 10 lakhs and a maximum package of more than Rs 54 lakhs.
170 companies are invited:
This year, 170 companies have been invited for campus placement by the Career Development Center of ISM, while so far about 80 companies have offered jobs. Now about 90 more companies are about to come for placements. In such a situation, it is expected that this year around 900 students can get jobs through campus placements.
