Two crore rupees worth of diamond jewelery and 95,000 rupees in cash were stolen from a hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The police also went to get the whereabouts of the thief.
According to police sources, the wedding of the daughter of Mumbai businessman Rahul Bhatia was arranged at a hotel in Jaipur. The eight-storey Bhatia family members booked the hotel to stay. The wedding was arranged on the lawn of the hotel.
On Thursday night, while the Bhatia family was busy with a wedding ceremony on the hotel lawn, diamond jewelery and cash were allegedly stolen from the hotel room.
As the news of the disappearance of the jewelry spread among the guests, the wedding ceremony became tumultuous. Rahul Bhatia alleged that the jewelery and money were stolen at the behest of a hotel employee. However, there was no response from the hotel authorities.
Police said all CCTV footage of the hotel was being examined. Hotel managers and staff are being questioned. The question is how valuable jewelery was lost from the hotel room despite tight security.
